Even so, Visual Studio doesn’t provide a huge choice. Microsoft claims Silverlight can be programmed using many different language,s whereas Flash is more or less restricted to ActionScript. In Visual Studio 2008, support for Silverlight was provided only by an optional add-in with no visual designer tool. Silverlight is a subset of WPF aimed at the creation of browser-based applications similar to those created using Adobe Flash. However there is also a massive gallery of other useful tools for Visual Studio.Given this fact, it’s odd that the integrated WPF design environment hasn’t changed much, although it does finally support Silverlight projects. The extended Microsoft offer provides immediate download and 3 year license for a huge range of products such as Visual Studio 2010 Professional. One group being any individual who is thinking about becoming a web developer. It was already possible for students and teachers to obtain a free version of Visual Studio 2010 Professional but now this Microsoft offer has been extended to a number of other groups.
